K9 Vape Detection Services is for concerned parents and teachers who value early detection and intervention for students who may be exposed to the harmful effects of vaping.
Vaping delivers enormous amounts of addictive nicotine and other harmful substances with an easy delivery method of flavours and designs to attract children.
Our handlers and canine are specifically trained to detect where the odour of vapes are or have been in order for parents and teachers to make informed decisions and conduct responsible discussions with young people and identify those at risk of becoming addicted or increasing addiction.
Our handlers and canine can come to your school at an agreed time and deliver a non-intrusive and confidential search to assist teachers in identifying areas where a vape may be hidden and where a vape may have been.

Offering and providing a K9 vape detection program will ensure parents trust that their children will be protected from vape use and possession whilst they are at school.

Yes!
Vape odours can last a very long time, and the canine will be able to identify that a vape is present or has been within a close proximity.
This gives the principals and teachers the ability to conduct the search without the presence of the young person, which de-fuses any conflict.
Our goal is not to catch a child "red handed" with a vape or to embarrass them in front of other students, but to give evidence-based information to the client.
This gives teachers and parents an opportunity to have that discussion at a time when the young person may be the most receptive to that conversation.
Our canine has not been imprinted on illicit substances.
We are not the police, and we are not in the business of searching or removing illicit substances.
This is a good outcome, as this means that the canine has not detected the presence of the target odour (vapes).
The benefit of having our detection dog search an area regularly, is a deterrence for a young person that may be susceptible to the peer pressures of vaping.
Random or Target
Firstly, detection dogs are not 'looking' for drugs, contraband or vapes, they are detecting and discriminating odours using some of the most extraordinary sensors and receptors gifted to any mammal on the planet.
In the case of Law Enforcement canines, if handled by a skilled operator the canine is probably correct in most cases.
The canine has correctly identified the presence of target odour and the most likely scenario is that the illicit substance has been moved, consumed or possibly secreted.
No.
The canine does not care for 'Ariana Grande - Cloud'. The canine has been trained to discriminate on the typical possessions of a teenager.
Yes.
Confidentiality is fundamental to our service.
All information gathered during our searches is shared only with our client at that school.
Our approach is empathetic and non-judgemental. We are committed in supporting schools in identifying, preventing and minimising harm and risks associated with vaping among students.
Our aim is to work collaboratively with schools for a safe and healthier environment for young people.
Dog stuff - of course!
When they are not working, our dogs enjoy quality time just like any other pet.
They stick close to their handler, like velcro, stay fit and active and continue training to keep their skills sharp.
Most importantly, they are family.
Our canine lives with another canine companion, receives the best nutrition , access to the highest standard vet care to ensure their health and well-being.
Our detection dog was sourced from a rescue organsiation here in Perth, WA.
We do not purchase canines from breeders.
We carefully assess and rehabilitate each canine, investing hundreds of hours in training and shaping behaviour.
Its a labour of love - and at the end of the day, they are still a dog, deserving of the same love, care and affection as every dog deserves.
In order to remain confidential with our clients and our search locations, depending on the clients discretion or what they agree with, we kindly ask that no films or photos be taken unless approved or agreed with.
Once we are finished and the searching is complete, the client and students are more than welcome to have a "meet and greet" with our canine and handlers.
